What is a Fungus??

I learned that a mushroom is a fungi, and it has gills, a cap, and a stem. There is a "thread" which is a individual thread called hypha and the network of hypha is called a myclium. The mycelium is known as the vegitative part of the fungus. A fungus is an organism in the kingdom FUNGI. Fungi were treated as plants at first , but people learned more about fungi and made it, its own kingdom. Mushrooms, molds, smuts, yeasts, and lichens are all classified in the fungus kingdom. Some fungi are edible and some are very toxic...

What a Protists is...

I learned that protist is a cathch-all term that is used to describe all eukaroyotic cells theat have nuclei, other than plants, animals, and fungi. (Ex's)Water mold, Slime mold, and the unicellular Ameoba. The term "protist" derives from the Greek protiston, which means the "first of all ones". Individual protist are very small. "Protista" encompassed everything that did not havethe cell make-up of an animal or plant, until the advent of cellular biology was noted to have differences between bacteria and the rest of life. The cell wall absorbs food by extending its self. Once inside the cekk wall the protists creates a food vacuole. Protists are very capable of paralyzing bacteria and eating it for food. There is a protists called "Toxoplasma", which is believed to infect 33% of the human species. This is what i learned about this term....
